Time flies man! Ran across some photos from my Idaho trip 4 years ago (almost to the day) that totally restarted my love for whitewater. Cross country road trip with my dad, 7 days on the raft / ducky on the middle fork of the salmon, bookended with about three days of kayaking some of the other rivers around. This trip was insanely therapeutic as I navigated my first year out of the Marines. Looking forward to one day getting back out to Idaho to do it all again!

Life’s crazy!! If you told me 5 years ago that this college dropout would have a Master’s degree (let alone a bachelor’s), I’d have said you were out of your damn mind. Hard to put into words how I’m feeling. My time at NEC was so amazing! So grateful for the friends, mentors and opportunities that came along the way. Excited for the future!

Well the time has come! My Master’s recital will take place this weekend, Sunday, April 27th at 8pm in Eben Jordan Hall. I have somehow convinced these incredible musicians to play my music for big band, and I couldn’t be more stoked with how it’s sounding. I invite you all to come and celebrate the end of the academic year with these killin players!

Just finished up my first year of grad school!
Beyond grateful for the friends I’ve made here and the Jazz Studies community. A lot of growth has happened these last couple months and I am so stoked to continue on this journey.

Last week I was able to get on the water for the first time this season! Forecast said high 50’s and sunny, we got low 40’s and sleet / rain 😂 good to be back on the water though. Hopefully doing more kayaking this year than ever before!

Just getting back from a sweet 2 week vacation out to Wisconsin and back where I got to do a lot of canoeing / kayaking. Got to race open boat with my dad for the first time in many many years. Needless to say we didn’t do very well lol. We flipped more times than I can count. But we had a blast. Stoked to do some more boating this summer 🤙 and stoked to be back in Boston now.

And thanks to @rbarkerjr for the great pics!

Well, 10 years later, I’m finally a college graduate! Lol. If you asked me a couple of years ago if I’d ever go back to college and finish my degree, let alone go back to Berklee, the answer would have been a resounding no. Now looking back, coming back was one of the better decisions of my life. I wouldn’t have been in the position I am now without the friends and mentors I’ve made both during my time in the marines and in this institution. Beyond stoked to have had my piece read by such killer musicians. Between this and performing with John Fedchock, needless to say it was a great week.
